If you store your Cadillac for weeks or months at a time, proper preparation is critical. Begin by thoroughly cleaning the vehicle, inside and out. Dirt, salt, and moisture can cause corrosion or interior odors during storage. Next, address the battery. Cadillac vehicles rely heavily on electronics, so disconnecting the battery or using a battery maintainer prevents drain and preserves battery health.
Inflate tires to the recommended pressure—or slightly higher—to avoid flat spotting. If storage exceeds several months, consider tire cradles or periodic vehicle movement.
Fuel stabilization is also essential. Adding a fuel stabilizer prevents ethanol breakdown and protects injectors and fuel lines. Finally, store the vehicle in a dry, covered environment. Use a breathable car cover to prevent dust accumulation while allowing moisture to escape.
